What’s my focus?
I took the scenic route to a specialisation in public policy for the early years: beginning as a diplomat and trade policy adviser, diverting into a PhD on regional Australia and globalisation, and then making a marvellous sharp turn into the early years.
Alongside ‘people’, I am very committed to ‘place’. I grew up in a town situated on the wrong side of the tracks (love you, Nowra), and I feel fiercely protective of the lesser-loved places and communities in Australia.
I believe that, collectively, it’s our job to leave the world – its people and places – in a better state than we found it. That’s why I work with organisations and individuals that seek to spark change for the better.
Do you want to make things happen? Let’s do it together.
How can I help you?
After decades of work in the public sector and not-for-profit organisations, I understand the policy and political landscapes – and I can help you find your place in them.
I specialise in analysis, strategy and planning for action, supporting you to pursue your goals.
Analysis
- Where are you located in the policy landscape, and how are you faring? Thriving? Threatened? Hidden?
- What are your unique capacities to improve the lives of people and communities?
Strategy
- Why should policymakers and funders care about what you do?
- Who needs to hear your story?
Planning for action
- What can you do to shape the decisions – big and small – that matter for your mission?
